Larry Hudson Rakestraw

Larry Hudson Rakestraw, born on February 22, 1950, peacefully passed away on August 29, 2023, at his residence in Rockmart, GA. He was a devoted father, cherished grandfather, and a respected member of the community.

Larry had a deep passion for all things automotive. He spent many years working in the industry, owning his own wrecker service and junk yard. He was known for his expertise in helping others with their vehicle troubles and finding hidden treasures among the scrap.

Larry's love for cars extended beyond his work. He was an avid fan of dirt track racing and even owned his own car. He spent countless hours at the racetrack, cheering on his favorite drivers and experiencing the thrill of the sport.

Larry is preceded in death by his grandparents, Emmet and Agnes Rakestraw, loving parents, Hudson and Betty Jean Rakestraw, and his son Christopher "Chris" Rakestraw.

Larry is survived by his wife, Linda Rakestraw; sons, Jeff Rakestraw, Carter (Amy) Dunaway; granddaughters, Madison Dunaway and Chloe Dunaway, and a host of extended family and friends.
