Larry Smith, age 77, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the Fountainview Center. He was born on May 18, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA, to his late parents. Mr. Smith was self-employed, where he worked as a painter and was a member of New Georgia Baptist Church. In his free time Larry would dress up as “Apples” the clown for years and would visit several hospitals, VFW for children, The Shepherd's Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and many other places. He also was a very talented wood carver. Mr. Smith was a loving caretaker to many and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Gerrie Smith.

Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Brown of Dallas, GA, sons; Chris Smith of Dallas, GA, Walter Bailey of Dallas, GA, Jeff (Nancy) Bailey of Hull, GA, step-daughters; Cindy (Calvin) Thompson of Dallas, GA,  Elaine (Jack) Stanley of Carrollton, GA, Susan (JK Kwok) Tibbitts of Douglasville, GA, Jennifer (Jimmy) Davis of Villa Rica, GA,  two sisters, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Randy Stubblefield and Brother Jim Burdette officiating. The family will receive friends before the funeral service begins at 1:00 PM until the service begins at 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 26, 2019. Interment will take place at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park following the service. Serving as pallbearers are his grandsons: Clint Bailey, Nathan Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Jared Smith, Nicky Smith, Hunter Bailey and Hayden Bailey.
