Lester S. “Bill” Cates, age 75, of Dallas, GA, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012. He was born July 25, 1937, in Butler, GA, and was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Homer Cates & Missouri Weeks Cates and his wife Nona Barrigan Cates, sister and brother in law Jackie and Howard Turner, sister Joan Mathis. Mr. Cates was an Electrician with IBEW 613 and a member of New Canaan Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters & sons-in-law, Sherri Cates Hardy of Dallas, GA, Jamie Cates Webb and Tommy Martin of Dallas, GA, Tonya Bradshaw Hardy of Dallas, GA, Sonja Bradshaw of Smyrna, GA, and Debi & Mickey Carney of Cedartown, GA; sisters and brothers in law Ginger and Bill Cash, Canton, GA, Gloria and Glenn Morgan, Tn., Brother Richard Cates, Sharpsburg, GA, Brother in law, Bill Mathis, Morrow, GA, grandchildren, Matthew Hardy, Andrew and Kyle Martin, Heather Knowles Pugh & Tim Pugh, Justin Knowles, Stephanie & David Cribbs, Melanie Carney, Jeremy Carney , Bryan Webb and Brianna Webb; great-grandchildren, Hayden Hardy, Keegan Knowles, Ethan McCampbell, Autumn Hardy, Presley Carney, Kolsen Veitch, Jana Francine Hardy; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at 11:00 AM, from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend James Cook officiating. Entombment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens with Matthew Hardy, Justin Knowles, Jeremy Carney, Tim Pugh, Bryan Webb, Ethan McCampbell and Joe Tifton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home, on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
