Biography Lila Ragsdale Fuller, 94, of Hiram, Georgia passed away on August 15, 2007, to be with the Lord. A native of
Paulding County, she was born January 1, 1913, to the late
Dr. George Warner Ragsdale and the late Effie M. Howard Ragsdale. Lila, a graduate of the University of Georgia, began her career by teaching home economics in high school. She discovered her love of teaching children, and eventually taught every grade from 12th down to kindergarten. She taught kindergarten in both public and private schools, eventually establishing kindergarten programs in Beecher Hills Baptist Church in Atlanta and later, in her home. Lila received her Masters and Specialist degrees in early childhood education from the University of Georgia. She also developed a love of horticulture and studied to become a flower show judge. She was a former active member in the Rural Beauty and Imaganitif Garden Clubs. Lila was also an active member of the Picketts Mill Baptist Church in Paulding County where she taught Sunday School and worked in the nursery for many years.
Lila is survived by her husband of 66 years, George E. Fuller, Sr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Andrew Stevenson of Griffin, GA, and Jerrine and Ron Gray of Huntsville, AL; sons and daughters-in-law, George and Marianna Fuller of Mableton, GA and Jon and Carole Fuller of Marietta, GA; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Fuller will be held on Friday, August 17, 2007, at 3:00pm, from Pickett's Mill Baptist Church, with Reverend Tony Samples officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
