Lloyd "Bud" Berry Hudson III, a beloved husband, devoted father, caring grandfather, and esteemed member of the community, passed away on October 26, 2023, at the age of 76. Born on March 21, 1947, in Arlington, VA, Lloyd's journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories and a lasting legacy.
"Bud" is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Vera Hudson, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared countless moments of joy and laughter. "Bud's" children, Christopher Hudson, Julie Rapson, Sean Fleming, and Kevin Fleming, were his pride and joy. He embraced fatherhood with unwavering dedication, offering guidance and support every step of the way.
As a proud grandfather, "Bud" found immense joy in the company of his six precious grandchildren. Karl Burger, Anthony Marino, Madalin Davis, Christian Rapson, Ian Fleming, and Mackenzie Fleming brought immeasurable happiness to his life, and he cherished every opportunity to create lasting memories with them. His great-grandchild, Luka Davis, further extended the circle of love within the Hudson family. "Bud" will also be missed by his sisters, Cathy Knight and Teri Deets; and his brother, Richard Hudson.
"Bud" joined the United States Marine Corps in 1966. He served in Vietnam from 1967 until 1968. "Bud" was honorably discharged in 1970.
"Bud" pursued a career as a sales estimator in the construction industry, dedicating 20 years of service to Marek Interiors Construction.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Lloyd was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly passionate about football. He found immense joy in rooting for college football teams, notably his beloved Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Tech.
Lloyd's greatest happiness came from spending time with his family. Whether it was gatherings, vacations, or simply gathering around the dinner table, he cherished the moments shared with his loved ones. His kind and compassionate nature served as a guiding light, and his presence will forever be missed.
A Memorial Visitation will be held for "Bud" from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Clark Funeral Home. Friends will share memories of "Bud" starting at 12:00 PM. Military honors and Inurnment will take place at 3:00 PM, Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a Veteran's Charity of one's choice.
"Bud" Hudson will forever be remembered for his unwavering love, dedication, and compassion. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched.
