Lois Johnson, age 87, of Hiram, GA., passed away peacefully on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Wellstar Paulding Nursing and Rehab. She was born on August 31, 1931 in Rome, GA., to the late Arthur and Ethel Kinsey. Mrs. Johnson worked as a seamstress for Sewells Clothing Company for over 40 years and was a faithful member of Cochran Ridge Baptist Church for 63 years. She loved her family dearly as well as her church. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed night fishing with her husband, Carlton, who often would get aggravated at her because she seemed to always catch more than him. Along with fishing, she loved to sing at the church. Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carlton Johnson, daughter, Sheila Dyson, her parents, siblings; Marvin Kinsey, Leonard Kinsey, Barbra Maxwell, Carolyn Nalley, and Nina Fuller.
Survivors include her son, Larry and Kaye Johnson of Hiram, GA., daughter, Teresa O’ Shields of Hiram, GA., brothers; Jimmy and Pat Kinsey of Lithia Springs, GA., Winfred and Brenda Kinsey of Dallas, GA., James Kinsey of Temple, GA., sisters; Ruth Pelfey of Calhoun, GA., Judy and Earl Chambers of Hiram, GA., her six grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 3:00 PM from Cochran Ridge Baptist Church with Brother Jeff Childers officiating. Interment will follow the service at Cochran Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state at Cochran Ridge Baptist Church on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 1:00 PM until the service beings at 3:00 PM. Friends are welcome during the time Mrs. Johnson will lie in state.
