Lonnie McMicken

Lonnie McMicken, age 91, of Dallas, GA, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012. The son of the late, John Wesley McMicken & the late, Susan Della McMicken, he was born October 26, 1920, in Dallas, GA. Mr. McMicken was a self-employed painter and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. He enjoyed trapping, honey bee’s, tree grafting, collecting Indian artifacts, deer hunting, and loved flowers, the outdoors and nature. Mr. McMicken was known as “Snake Man” and “Apple Man”.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Cleopatra Jones McMicken; son, John Wayne McMicken of Tennessee; daughter, Virginia Ann McMicken of Dallas, GA; sister, Catherine McMicken Ragsdale of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth McMicken and James Edward McMicken; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 11:00 AM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend James Barfield officiating. Randy Eller, Pascal “Pat” Jones, Mark Folsom, Jeff Craton, James McMicken, and Earl Maine will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, June 29, 2012, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
