It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynne Turner, who left us on December 25, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on January 5, 1947, in Atlanta, GA, Lynne called Villa Rica, GA her home for many years and touched so many lives throughout her journey.
Lynne dedicated over 30 years to nurturing the minds and hearts of children in the education system. She began her career as a teacher in Forsyth and later contributed her talents to Paulding County, where she eventually retired in 2010. Throughout her career, Lynne wore many hats-serving as Principal, Curriculum Coordinator for Middle Grades, and finally as Executive Director for Human Resources. Although she was very close to completing her Doctoral program, health issues arose that kept her from finishing. She was affectionately known as "Dr. Turner" by her colleagues and friends.
Community service was also a huge part of who Lynne was. She took on the role of President for the Paulding Kiwanis, always finding ways to give back and support those around her.
Above all, Lynne loved her family deeply. She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Robert "Bob" Turner; her daughters, Merry (Mike) Ward and Bobbie (Richard) Powell; her grandchildren, Kaylee and Faith Powell; and her great-grandchildren, Roman and Forrest Powell. Lynne also leaves behind her nephew, Karl Kristen Gloer; great nieces Mary-Bryan, Ella and Ava Gloer; cousins, Peggy Romasowski and Barbara Garner.
She was a faithful follower of her Lord and Savior, and we take comfort in knowing that she was greeted with "Well done, thy good and faithful servant" upon entering her eternal glory.
Funeral services will be held on December 31, 2025, at 2 PM at Clark Funeral Home in the Sam Clark Chapel. There will be a visitation on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Clark Funeral Home.
