Louise L. Hamby, age 85, of Hiram, GA, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012. Born April 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late, Thomas & Nancy Adams. Youngest of eleven children, she was raised in Rome, GA, and married at 15 years old to Gordon Hamby, the handsome brother of a classmate. They were married for 70 years this last December. Louise was a feisty red head, who raised a family, owned and operated Bambi’s Daycare in Mableton for 15 years, and then worked as a school bus driver for many years. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She always enjoyed children, family and Gordon and will be missed by all.
Survivors include husband, Gordon E. Hamby; three children and their families, Shirley & Gene Cagle of Rome, Sue & John Wadsworth of Hiram, and Larry Hamby of Smyrna; five grandchildren and families, Cynthia & Brian Hardison of Dallas, John & Vicki Wadsworth of Carrollton, Robbie Hamby and family, Donnie & Wanda Fleming of Geraldine, AL; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 26, 2012, at 2:00 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Don Rackley officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, April 26, 2012, from 12:00 noon until the service time.
