Mr. Loyd D. Cochran, age 83, of Dallas, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2007. He was born on July 18, 1923 in Paulding County to the late Marshall and Addie Bell Cochran. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was retired from International Harvester. He was preceded in death by his son, Joe Cochran.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Ruth Cochran; a son, Jimmy Cochran of Dallas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Martin & Norma Cochran of Dallas and J. T. & Clara Cochran of Dallas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Monnie & Billy Rainwater of Dallas, Nola Rakestraw of Dallas and Hazel & Jake Rakestraw of Hiram; a sister-in-law, Christine Cochran of Hiram; grandchildren, Shane (Christy) Cochran of Rockmart, Brian (Juliet) Cochran of Dallas and Melody (Rick) Rife of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Garison and Greyson Rife, Alyssa, Cody and Cole Cochran; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram with Reverend James Cook and Reverend Brad Benson officiating. The interment will follow in Dallas Memory Gardens with Sam Ragsdale, Lewis Ragsdale, Jake Rakestraw, Brian Cochran, Shane Cochran and Rick Rife serving as pallbearers.
