Lucy Gilbert

Lucy Arnold Gilbert, age 93, a native of Paulding Co., passed away on Friday, December 14, 2007. She was born on October 25, 1914 to the late William and Amy Arnold. She was a retired insurance clerk for Coats & Clark in Acworth and Clarkdale for 30 years and was a member of the Hiram/Powder Springs Chapter of the Eastern Star. Lucy and her sisters were 20 year volunteers at the Paulding Nursing Home in Dallas. She was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Hiram. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, John Hoyt Gilbert, five sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Larry & Brenda Gilbert of Powder Springs; grandchildren, Chris A. Gilbert and his wife, Yvette and Brian M. Gilbert and his wife, Cindy; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler, Deanna and Alyssa Gilbert; nieces and nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from Bethel United Methodist Church in Hiram with Dr. Gil Watson and Rev. Harry Hawkins officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
