Lula Irene McTaggart, age 86, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. She was born on December 19, 1929, in Anderson, SC, to the late Joseph & Berdell Eaton, and was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Barner McTaggart; son, Jerry Wayne Jones; grandson, Allen Jones, step-mother, Estell Eaton; sisters, Beatrice Laney and Edna Eaton; brothers, Junior Eaton, Howard Eaton, Kenneth Eaton, Charles Eaton and Henry Eaton. Mrs. McTaggart was of Baptist Faith and worked as a supervisor for Fulton Cotton Mill in Cabbage Town.
Survivors include children, Lisa & David Stell of Powder Springs, GA, Maudie & Myron Belcher of Taylors, SC, and Harold & Bernice Jones of Reidsville, NC; sisters, Doris Almond of Dahlonega, GA, Lila Wilson of Statham, GA, Janice Eaton of Pelzer, SC, and Josephine Fernandez of South Carolina; brothers, Wayne Eaton of Covington, GA, Johnny Eaton of Atlanta, GA, and Marvin Eaton of Covington, GA; grandchildren, Jessica Suttles, Melisha Jones, Talena Honbarger, Michael Jones; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 2 PM, with Reverend Chad Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. Joe Summers, Bobby Summers, David Summers, David Stell, Ron Helms and Byron Honbarger will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 21, 2016, from 5 PM until 8 PM.
