Lula Coombs Vaughan, age 89, of Dallas, GA, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011. She was born August 14, 1922, in Lexington, KY, and was preceded in death by her parents, John & Hampton Alford; first husband, Joe A. Coombs, Sr.; and second husband, Wesley Vaughan. She was retired from the Burroughs Corporation as a secretary. Mrs. Vaughan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dallas.
Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Joe & Gayle Coombs of Dallas, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Reverend Len Stowe of Fayetteville, GA; step-son, Mike Vaughan of Atlanta, GA; brother & sister-in-law, Guy & Paula Alford of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, LeAnne (Mike)
Gable, LaTisha Stowe, Troy Coombs and Trip (Tracy) Coombs; great-grandchildren, Bethany Gable, SarahGrace Gable, Drew Gable and Landon Stowe; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 16, 2011, at 1:00 PM, from the First Baptist Church of Dallas, GA, with Dr. Gregg Potts officiating. Interment will follow in Willow Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 15, 2011, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
