Lydia Jane Byrd, 90, of Centre, AL passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2020. She was born on March 20, 1929, to the late Glenn and Rossie Mitchell. Mrs. Byrd was a loving wife and mother who spent her life taking care of her family. She was a homemaker and an active member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Claude Tillman Byrd, Jr., brother; Thomas Glenn Mitchell, Jr. and sister; Clara Bow Siedel. She is survived by her sons; Michael (Jenny) Byrd of Villa Rica, GA, Kenneth (Angel) Byrd of Dallas, GA, daughters; Claudia (Donald) Pruett of Centre, AL Glenda Tant of Dallas, GA, sister; Fostina Rush of Madison, GA, grandchildren; Terri (Will) Cain, Elizabeth (Daniel) Smith, Leslie (Semaun) Chhe, Michael Byrd, Angie ( Jeff) Tibbitts, Jennifer Dobbs, Deidra (Cody) Howell, Lydia (Brian) Liford, great-grandchildren; Landon (Shelby) Tibbitts, Hutt (Brittany) Tibbitts, Nathaniel Dobbs, Taylor Howell, Baylee Howell, Gabriel Liford, Abigail Liford, Jason Liford, great-great-grandchild; Lily Tibbitts and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 8th, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from Lighthouse Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Hudgens and Pastor Jeff Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in Melrose Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Michael Byrd, Landon Tibbitts, Hutt Tibbitts, Brian Liford, Cody Howell, and Daniel Smith with one honorary pallbearer Nathaniel Dobbs.
The family will graciously accept flowers or donations to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 12843 Buchanan Hwy Temple, Ga 30179, in her honor.
