Lynn Newton, age 57, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. He was born on January 21, 1958, in Atlanta, GA, to the late Newman Lee and Gwendolyn Newton. Mr. Newton was an elder at Westgate Church and loved his church family. Lynn was loving, loyal, faithful, wise and an awesome Dad. He was highly respected and regarded by those who knew him. Mr. Newton was an awesome husband and officially known as “Apa and Papa” by his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Vivian Newton of Douglasville, GA; son, Joseph Lynn Newton, JR of Trinidad, Colorado; daughters, Brandi Elaine & Brandon Sharpton of Dallas, GA, and Cathy Renee & Derek George of Villa Rica, GA; grandchildren, ShyAnne Newton of Trinidad, Colorado, Torri Hutt of Dallas, GA, Emili Sharpton of Dallas, GA, Stefani Sharpton of Dallas, GA, Chloe George of Villa Rica, GA, and one granddaughter expected in March; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 3 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Dwayne Terry officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 14, 2015, from 2 PM until 3 PM.
