As the morning dawned on February 22, 2021, Lyvonia Sims gained her heavenly wings as God called her home.
Lyvonia affectionally known as “Boney” was born to the late Newt and Lillian Bargue Hunter on June 12, 1936 in Powder Springs, GA. At an early age she met and married Randall Eugene Sims (deceased), in this union was born 5 children. Lyvonia was preceded in death by on son; Willis Sims, 6 brothers; 2 sisters; 3 brother in-laws; and 2 sister in-laws. She was faithful member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a mother, Usher, and choir member.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her 2 daughters; Cynthia G. Simmons and Yvette Birdsong both of Hiram, GA., her 2 sons; Ricky (Kathy) Sims, Josh (Priscilla) Sims, 12 grandkids; Aryasha Sims, Elisha Sims, Cornelius Sims, Kenya (Melissa) Simmons, Demetrius (Kamie) Simmons, Sherod Birdsong, Josh Sims Jr., Kayla (Jarred) Maurice, Monica Hampton, Sha’vette Birdsong, and Tiffany Robinson, 19 great grandkids, two sisters; Agnes Appleby and Evelina Hunter, a special friend; Miss Odean Touchstone, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 12:00 until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services immediately following in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Jeffery R. Winbush officiating. Interment will follow at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Hiram, GA. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 12:00 until 2:00 PM.
If attending the funeral service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn, and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mrs. Sims safe. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who may be unable to attend the service in person due to Covid-19.
