Mahlon Myers Vickery Jr., age 76, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024. Born on December 31, 1947, in Columbus, Mississippi, Mahlon was a beloved member of his community, known for his talent, profound knowledge, and caring nature.

Mahlon pursued his passion for graphic design, dedicating his professional life to the advertisement industry, particularly as a valued graphic designer at Clayton Signs for 45 years.

An accomplished musician, Mahlon was a professional drummer for over 30 years, lending his rhythmic talents to prominent bands such as ZZ Top, Marshall Tucker, and the Atlanta Rhythm Section. His love for music was matched only by his passion for history, as he was an avid reader who enjoyed delving into historical literature and biblical texts.

Mahlon is preceded in death by his parents, Mahlon Vickery Sr. and Tempie Vickery; and his brothers, Kenny Vickery and Sonny Leucke.

Mahlon is survived by his loving wife, 37 years, Donna Vickery; sons, Jason Smith, Adam Smith, Mahlon Vickery III; daughter, Amber Hendrickson; and his brothers, Harold Vickery and Robert Leucke.

A private Celebration of Life for Mr. Mahlon will be held at a later date.
