Martha Ann Tibbitts, age 86 of Dallas, GA (Burnt Hickory Community) passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019. She was an excellent cook, wonderful, generous caretaker who loved gardening, canning and previously worked in the cafeteria of Paulding County Junior High School. She was preceded in death by her parents; Preacher Eunice Franklin and Selma Lou Thomason Corley; son, Wayne Tibbitts; son-in-law, Wesley Rakestraw; sisters, Rachel Schuletti, Helen Tulin; brother, Thomas Corley; brother-in-law, Harold Carruth; sisters-in-law, Genette Corley and Tiny Corley.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 71 years Joseph (Joe) Tibbitts of Dallas, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry (Wayne) Barber of Dallas, GA, Sharon (Dean) Morgan of Dallas, GA, Karen (Lee) Proctor of Dallas, GA, Sevelda (Buster) Crumpton of Athens, GA; brothers, Paul Corley of Dallas, GA, Pledger (Mattie) Corley of Dallas, GA, Jimmy (Sonja) Corley of Dallas, GA; sisters, Jo Ellen Carruth of Dallas, GA, Artie Sue Kemp of Elberta, AL; sister-in-law, Becky Corley of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Russ (Angie) Tibbitts, Jason (Melissa) Barber, Jody (Rachel) Barber, John (Lindsey) Rakestraw, Josh (Morgan) Rakestraw, Jake (Taylor) Rakestraw all of Dallas, GA, Amanda (William) Gossett of Bainbridge, GA and Natalie (Charlie) Walthour of Guyton, GA; great-grandchildren, Reagan Tibbitts, Devyn (Jordan) Brackett, Jarrett Barber, Katie Barber, Rylee Barber, Walker Rakestraw, Adalyn Rakestraw, Wesley Rakestraw, Wyatt Rakestraw, Waverley Rakestraw, Anna Gossett, Hunter Walthour, Landon Walthour and great-grandchild, Jaxon Brackett.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Narroway Baptist Church with Rev. Hershel Tibbitts, Rev. Todd Tibbitts and Rev. Merle Barron officiating. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers with Gerald Hosea and Bud Selsor serving as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Narroway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 21, 2019 between the hours 5:00-8:00 p.m.
