Margaret Ruth Rutland, age 82, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital. She was born on August 15, 1938 in Dallas, GA, to her late parents; Ernest and Bernie Murdock. Mrs. Rutland was retired from the Board of Education for Paulding County, where she worked as a School Nutrition Manager for 30 years. Margaret was a faithful member of Hiram United Methodist Church. She loved QVC dearly and would have a constant stream of UPS and USPS deliveries at her door! She also loved gardening, playing Canasta on her computer, and most importantly, she loved her family immensely. Mrs. Rutland was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend who will be missed dearly by her loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Edward Rutland Sr., brothers; Burton Murdock, John Murdock, sisters; Edna Rakestraw, Louise Wright, and Annette Rackley.
Mrs. Rutland is survived by her son, Charles Edward Jr. and his wife, Brooke of Guntersville, AL, daughters; Sharon Rutland Cason and her husband, Mitchell of Hiram, GA, Lynn Wynelle Rutland of Dallas, GA, grandchildren; Stephen Zirpoli, Michelle Adams, Megan Ridley, Bryson Rutland, Sadie Brooke Rutland, great grandchildren; Kevin Hernandez, Kinley Zirpoli, Ryleigh Zirpoli, Noah Adams, Carly Adams, Lilly Adams, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Rutland will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Paulding Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM.
The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions (no more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time). If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mrs. Rutland safe.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to The Hope House or the American Heart association in loving memory of Mrs. Rutland.
