Margie Blackmon

Margie Ruth Blackmon passed away peacefully in her home on May 8, 2024 in Villa Rica, Georgia. She was born on May 9, 1939, to the late Millard and Mamie Lanning. Margie spent her life embracing the role of a dedicated mother and grandmother and finding joy in yards and flower gardens. Margie was someone who cherished the simple things in life and caring for her family and gardening.

In addition to her parents, Millard and Mamie Louise Lanning, Margie is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 65 years, Hubert Blackmon and their son, Scott Blackmon.

Margie is survived by her children, Glenda (Richard) Bruns, Tony (Denise) Blackmon, Becky (Sean) Scalise, and Debbie (Neal) McCleary; grandchildren, Brandy (Robby) Locklear, Kelly (Kyle) DeVore, Christy (Ricky) Russell, Vickie McCleary, Joshua Parks, Bobby Blackmon, Michael Blackmon, Valerie Ott, and Neal McCleary; sisters, Mevlyn Durden, Irene Brookshire, Marie Hall, Brenda Lanning, Bobbie Lanning, Sue Lanning; brother, Frank Lanning; and several great-grandbabies, extended family, and friends.

Margie's memory will forever live in the hearts of her family.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Clark Funeral Home and Chapel on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Margie will begin at 3:00 PM at Clark Funeral Home and Chapel with Brother Billy Whitaker officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests pottable plants and flowers be brought so they can continue Margie's love of gardening.
