Margie Marcelle Coats, age 93, of Lithia Springs, GA, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center. She was born on December 28, 1926 in Rockmart, GA, to her late parents; William and Dollie Sanders. Mrs. Coats worked as a homemaker and was a faithful member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Dallas, GA. Margie was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Earl Coats, brothers and sisters; James Sanders, Geneva Steele, Inez Steele, Cecil Sanders and her son-in-law, Wayne Ham.

Mrs. Coats is survived by her son, Terry C. Coats and his wife, Jill of Dallas, GA, daughter, Brenda J. Ham of Lithia Springs, GA, sister, Imogene Nelson and her husband, James of Dallas, GA, sisters-in-law; Glenda Sanders of Lithia Springs, GA, Evelyn Sanders of Nitro, W.V., grandchildren; Will Coats and his wife, Kara of Cumming, GA, Julie Crawford and her husband, Glenn of Greenwood, S.C., great grandchildren; Haylie Crawford, Riley Crawford, Hollyn Coats and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Coats will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM from The Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Barnett officiating. Interment will follow the service at Dallas Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 12:00 PM until the service starts at 2:00 PM.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to the state’s Covid-19 restrictions. (No more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time) If attending the visitation, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mrs. Coats safe.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to New Canaan Baptist Church Audio – Visual Program in loving memory of Mrs. Coats.
