Marie Wallace Vollrath

Marie Wallace Vollrath, 81, of Hiram, GA passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at her daughter’s home. She was born on May 7, 1939 in Newnan, GA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and loyal servant to the Lord.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Carl R. Vollrath; children, Kristi (Mike) Cobb of Hiram; Tim (Suzanne) Cotton of Temple; Denny (Terri) Vollrath of Powder Springs; Rodney (Bobbie) Vollrath of Marietta; Greg (Jill) Vollrath of Jasper, Indiana; brother Ron (J.L.) Wallace and sister Betty (Johnny) Ling; fifteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her loving mama, Maddie Odell Wallace, and her loving daddy and mother, James Daniel Wallace and Jackie Lucille Henderson, Mrs. Vollrath was preceded in death by her son, Kirk Lee Sanders, and brothers Dan Wallace and David Wallace.
She served as a church secretary for more than ten years at the former Smyrna Baptist Church and was a member of E. Hiram Baptist Church. She also worked as secretary to the service manager of Carl Black in Kennesaw.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Hiram followed by interment at Kennesaw Memorial Gardens in Marietta. Rev. Elly Tilk will officiate with family members serving as pallbearers. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, December 28.

If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing be practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mrs. Vollrath safe. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who may be unable to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions (no more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time).
