Martha Virginia Akins, age 90, of Hiram, GA, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Martha was born on March 24, 1927 in Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Jackson Akins, her parents, Frank and Claudia Reese, her sisters; Mildred Carroll and Sarah Lyle and niece, Gail Love. Martha was a homemaker and was a member of The First Baptist Church of East Point.
Survivors include Great Nieces, Beth Love and Shane Costello of Hiram, GA., Renee Lyle and Lamar Elrod of Chatsworth, GA., Cheryl and Carlton Butler of Roswell, GA., her great nephew, Michael Love of West Virginia and a number of great great nieces and nephews survive.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 12:30 PM from Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA., with Reverend Thomas Blagg officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM
