Jane Walker Johnson, a beloved member of the community, passed away on August 14, 2024. She was born on February 4, 1940, in Dallas, Georgia, the daughter of the late Earl Walker and the late Melia Prewett Walker. Jane was a devoted Christian whose faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She was an avid stamp collector, amassing a collection that she cherished.
Jane dedicated over three decades of her life in Lawrenceville, Georgia, where she lovingly raised her children. A bookkeeper by profession in the plumbing and electric utility industries, Jane worked diligently for Plumbing Wholesale Distributors until her retirement and also for Cobb EMC until her second retirement. Her passion for gardening, particularly cultivating flowers and herbs, brought her immense joy. She was known for her holistic approach to natural remedies and took pride in her knowledge as an herbalist.
Having lived in various places, Martha spent a brief period in Belgium with her son and his family but ultimately returned to her roots in Dallas, Georgia. She led an active lifestyle, embracing all that life had to offer. Jane's younger years were enriched with diverse experiences, and her spirit for adventure shone brightly through her journeys and interests.
In addition to her parents, Jane was also preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Johnson Day; her sister, Margie Shirley; and her brother-in-law, Jerry Strickland.
Jane is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stacy Glen Johnson and his wife, Natascha Demunyck; her siblings: Willard (Sue) Walker, Olen (Helen) Walker, Maudie Strickland and Betty (Darryl) Roach; her grandchildren: Alexandra Coogler and her husband, Michael, Janie Johnson, Kimberly Demunyck and her husband, Hans Haspeslagh, and Jordy Soumillon and his wife, Ashley Delaere; great grandchildren: Noah, Giovanni, Elianna, Erynn, Eden and Adela; several nieces and nephews.
To honor Jane's life and legacy, a Graveside Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10:00 am in the Mt. Zion Community Cemetery on Old Cartersville Road, Dallas, Georgia.
In mourning her passing, we remember Jane as a woman of faith, passion, and vitality, who left an indelible mark on all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
