Biography Mary M. Carter, age 77, of Rockmart, GA passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008. She was born on December 21, 1931 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Jesse and Louella Dempsey. She was a retired Nurse.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Emily & David Gavazzi of Bremen, GA, Mary Jane Lilly of Rockmart, GA and Rebecca Pennington of Huntington, W.V.; sisters and brother-in-law, Jean Bentley of Huntington, W.V., Clara Moore of Huntington, W.V., Patty Buchanan of Columbus, OH and Emily & Louis Sharp of Huntington, W.V.; grandchildren, Lorrie Bailey, Jenny Pennington, Jesse Pennington, Vanessa Lilly, Christina Gavazzi and Debbie & Jason Evers; great-grandchildren, Ben Gue, DeLaney Evers and Mackenzie Evers; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from Faith Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Randy Clarke officiating. She will lie-in-state for 1 hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The burial will be held in Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, W.V. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA is in charge of arrangements. www.samclarkfuneralhome.com.
