Mary Cunningham

Mary Jo Cunningham, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of the Hiram community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on December 7, 1925, in Rockwood, TN, Mary Jo lived a life marked by devotion to her family and her faith as a devoted Christian.

For 20 years, Mary Jo called Paulding County her home, where she poured her love into her family and her passions. A dedicated textile worker at Roane Hosier, she took great pride in her work within the textile manufacturing industry. Her hands created not just fabric but warmth and comfort for those she loved.

Mary Jo's talents shone through in her love for gardening and sewing. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit, adorned with vibrant rose bushes that she tended to with unparalleled care. She found joy in each blooming flower, just as she embraced the beauty in her family's milestones.

Mary Jo leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and kindness. She is survived by her devoted son, Michael Wayne Meadows, and daughter-in-law, Charlotte Meadows, along with her cherished grandchildren-Todd Gray, Andy Dorsey, Michael Meadows, Sarah Gray, Jill Meadows, Christi Dorsey, and Amy Duke. Her great-grandchildren-Whitney Drost, Miley Dorsey, Carson Doss, Brandon Drost, Knox Duke, Allie Meadows, Brantley Doss, Ethan Meadows, and Major Dorsey - will carry her memory in their hearts, as will Tyler Brady.

A visitation to celebrate Mary Jo's remarkable life will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Though she has departed from this earthly realm, Mary Jo Cunningham's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her unwavering faith and deep love for her family will continue to inspire those left behind, reminding us all of the beauty in simplicity and the strength found in love.
