Mary Frances (Rakestraw) Jones

Mary Frances Jones passed away on May 15, 2022. She was born on May 5, 1929 to the late Oscar and Etta Rakestraw. Mary was a faithful member of New Canaan Baptist Church and she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed flower gardening, thrifting, and going fishing. Mary deeply loved her family and would do anything she could to help them. She never met a stranger and was always looking out for others and helping in anyway she could. Mary truly was a special person who left a mark on everyone she met and she will be very missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Early Jones; son, Buddy Jones; daughter, Mary Smith; and all her siblings, Jake "J.C." Rakestraw, Evelyn Womack, Herman Rakestraw, Coleman Rakestraw, Leon Rakestraw, Clara May Millsap, and Hugh Rakestraw. She is survived by her son, Charley Jones; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services for Mrs. Jones will be held at Clark Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 20, 2022 beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Ralph Medlock officiating. Interment will follow at New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.
