Mavis Cunningham, age 85, of Dallas, GA, passed away at Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain on Thursday, June 6, 2019. She was born on October 30, 1933, to the late MacAfee and Dana Jordan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Earl Cunningham; her parents; her sister, Mae Mitchell, and a son-in-law, Charles Curl, Sr.
Mavis was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her life, and she had a soft spot for all children. She loved her dog, Greta, and she enjoyed walking and exercising. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed baking. If she knew what a person liked to eat, she would make it for them each time they came to visit. She was in administration at the State of Georgia for 35 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dallas, GA.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Curl of Dallas, GA; her sister, Fae Cummings of Bowdon, GA; three grandchildren: Chad and Gretchen Curl, Brent and Maranda Curl, and Stacey Curl; seven great-grandchildren: Chip Curl, Sophia Curl, Abi Curl, Eli Curl, Charli Curl, Benji Curl, and Luci Curl, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Cunningham will be held in the chapel of Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 11:00 AM until the service begins at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made the Alzheimer’s Association.
