Melba Fay Roberts

Melba Fay Roberts, age 76, passed away on June 21, 2017. Melba was born on November 10, 1940 in Marion, North Carolina and was preceded in death by her mother, Bertie Hemphill. She worked as a secretary at the Local Union 72 for over 30 years and was a member of Hope United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, spouse and nanny who enjoyed taking care of others.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Skinner of Rockmart, GA., father, Charles Dean Hemphill of Acworth, GA., her two daughters; Lisa and John Blevins of Lithia Springs, Kim and Dave Bradshaw of MS., her son, Brent Skinner of Smyrna, GA., her two brothers; Larry and Eva Hemphill of  Panama City Beach, FL., Darryl and Lourdes Hemphill of Marietta, GA., her sister, Sharon Mullis of Acworth, GA., her four grandchildren; Katy and Jason New of Dallas, GA., Kierston and Brent Jones of Woodstock, GA., T.J. Poole of Lithia Springs, GA., Wiley Bradshaw of MS., her two great grandchildren; Taytum Gabioud of Dallas, GA., Liam Jones of Woodstock, GA., and a number of other relatives are survived by her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 6:00 PM from Hope United Methodist Church with Brother Bill Smith officiating and Mike Mosley providing the eulogy. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 4:00 PM until the service begins.
