Melvina M. Gibbs, age 100, of Hiram, GA passed away on Monday, September 21, 2009. She was born on June 1, 1909 in Knoxville, TN to the late General B. and Rebecca Mason. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by her son, Freddy Gibbs, her sister, Sadie Burge and her cousin, Rev. Isaac Fitzgerald.
Survivors include her cousins, Gladys Britt of Hiram, GA, Bertha Fitzgerald of Hiram, GA and Isaiah “Zeke” Fitzgerald of Hiram, GA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA. The interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday in Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time.
