Mercer Humphries, age 72, of Dallas, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011. He was born on February 15, 1939, in Atlanta, GA, to the late Thomas & Margaret Humphries, and was preceded in death by his brother, John Edward Humphries. Mr. Humphries was a veteran of the United States Navy, founder and owner of Marietta Muffler Shop, and a member of Unity Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife of 50 years, Dolores Humphries of Dallas; sons and daughters-in-law, David & Deborah Humphries of Dallas, and Gregory & Dana Humphries of Dallas; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly & Lynn Bandy of Dallas; grandchildren, Natalie Bandy, Patrick Bandy, Madeline Bandy, Hannah Humphries, Aaron Humphries, Ted Humphries, Victoria Waddell, and Colin Winslette all of Dallas; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011, at 11 a.m., from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Don Voyles officiating. Interment will follow in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 3, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
