Mildred Dorothy (Layton) Holden

Mildred Layton Holden, age 82, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017.  She was born on June 6, 1934, in Tallapoosa, GA, to the late Thomas Joseph & Anna Dees Layton. She was also preceded in death by sons, Larry Holden, Terry Holden and Joey Holden; great- granddaughter, Khylee Holden. She was a homemaker and a member of North Paulding Baptist Church.

Survivors include her Husband of 65 years, Herman Holden, of Dallas, GA; daughters: June Fielder of Dallas, GA, Angela & Ricky Gurley of Dallas, GA, Gayla & Eric Carroll of Rockmart, GA, Lisa & Kent Carter of Dallas, GA; sons: Ricky & Carla Holden of Woodstock, AL, Johnny& Deidre Holden, of Dallas, GA; daughter-in-law: Melinda Holden Yoder; brothers: Hoyt Layton of Tallapoosa, GA, Kenneth Layton of Tallapoosa, GA, James Layton of Buchanan, GA, Bobby Joe Layton of Tallapoosa, GA, Curtis Layton of Buchanan, GA, Gary Layton of Tallapoosa, GA; sister: Annie Lou Smith Chandler of Tallapoosa, GA: 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and  many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 5 PM, at Clark Funeral Home, with Dr. Curtis Turner, Pastor Thomas Cole, Pastor Mike Wheeler and Brandon Gurley officiating.  Interment will follow at New Canaan Baptist Church cemetery. Grandsons: Joseph Holden, Bryan Holden, Chad Holden, Shane Holden, Marcus Fielder, Brandon Gurley, Adam Gurley, Neil Carroll, Phillip Carroll, and Johnathan Holden will serve as pallbearers, great-grandsons: Cameron Holden, Cayden Holden, Justin Holden, Rylan Holden and Austin Gurley will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 11, 2017, from 5 PM until 8 PM.
