Mildred Smith, age 80, of Dallas, Ga, passed away on October 15, 2020. She was born on April 12, 1940 in Austell, Georgia to her late parents; Henry and Ruby Newton. Mildred worked as a secretary for over 20 years and was a member of the Highest Praise Church of God. Mrs. Smith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed by those who loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Smith.
Mrs. Smith was survived by her son, Greg Smith, of Dallas, Ga, daughter Cathy and husband Steve Graffin of Dallas, GA, daughter Sherry Raines of Georgia, brothers; Jay Newton of Marietta Ga, Jerry Newton of Douglasville, Ga, and Jimmy Newton of Mableton, Ga, sisters, Diane Hughes of Marietta and Donna Bernardo of Dallas, Ga, grandchildren; Jessica and Nicholas Simmons of Douglasville, Ga, Tabitha and Robert Burch of Dallas, Ga, Ronald and Christy Hall of Rockmart, Ga, Kaylee and Tony Noojin of Carrolton, Ga, Ashlyn Raines of Dallas, Ga, Shelby and Frank Marcotti of Fairbanks, Alaska, Joshua Niswander of Kentucky, Cody Griffin of Acworth, Ga, Tyler Raines of Dallas, Ga, 15 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Smith will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 3:00 pm with Bishop Tony Stallings officiating. The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home for a visitation on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions (no more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time). If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mrs. Smith safe.
