Minnie Opaline Denton

Minnie Opaline Denton passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. She was born on September 24, 1930, a daughter of the late Johnny and Kate Abernathy in Dallas, GA. Minnie loved taking care of her family and friends. She loved to cook and would offer meals to her loved ones whenever she could. Minnie loved sewing and crocheting. She had a passion for God and loved going to church at New Georgia Baptist Church. Minnie was a Home Maker for many years. She was also a court bailiff for the Paulding county courthouse for around 20 years.

In addition to her parents, Minnie is preceded in death by her husband, Willis "Billy" Denton; a son, Michael Denton; a grandson, Billy Wayne Denton; eight brothers, Charlie, Grady, James, Lawrence, Richard, Roy, Sammy, Junior; three sisters, Nelli Bell, Flora, Willene. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Sammy) Newman; a brother, Billy; three sisters, Betty Sue, Helen, Doris; four grandchildren,Shannon Newman, Rita Silvers, Alissa Valazquez, Dana Hults; ten great-grandchildren, Noah, Skyler, Cole, Halyn, Nylah, Jadah, Samual, Alainah, Justice and Janna.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, August 04, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral Service for Minnie will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Friday August 4, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Keith Stell officiating. Interment will follow at New Georgia Baptist Church Cemetery with Shannon Newman, Skyler Newman, Cole Newman, Justice Warren, Sam Velazquez and Noah Laubrich serving as pallbearers.
