John Beasley, age 63, of Rockmart, passed away on February 19, 2009. He was born on September 23, 1945, in Paulding County to the late Lorenzo and Clara Beasley. Mr. Beasley was a veteran of the United States Army and retired after 43 years as an Expediter from Lockheed. He was a member of the Greater Pentecostal Tabernacle of Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Beasley of Rockmart; sons and daughter-in-law, Effrem Beasley of Cartersville, and Adrian & Kerri Beasley of Hiram; daughters, Jocelyn Beasley of Rockmart, and Carmen Fulks & her special friend, Jeanette Knox of Stone Mountain; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lorenzo JR & Margaret Beasley of Carrollton, Sammy & Christine Beasley of Carrollton, and Amos & Sara Beasley of Atlanta; sisters and brother-in-law, Katherine Holloman of Rockmart, and Wilma & Chester Winfield of Powder Springs; twelve grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at 11 a.m., from Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Bishop Samuel Holmes officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.
