Namon Harvey

Namon Johnson Harvey, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished member of the community, peacefully passed away on October 22, 2023, at the age of 87. Born on July 28, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia, Namon was a kind-hearted soul who touched the lives of all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Namon is preceded in death by his wife Salma Harvey.

Throughout his life, Namon approached each day with a genuine and compassionate spirit. Though he may have had modest beginnings, his impact on those around him was immeasurable. As a devoted machine operator in the food manufacturing industry, Namon worked diligently for his employer, Sophie Mae, never losing sight of his responsibility to provide for his family.

Outside of work, Namon found solace in the simplicity of life's joys. A true outdoorsman, he found great pleasure in fishing and tending to his yard. He reveled in the tranquility nature provided, always finding peace and contentment in its presence.

A devout man of faith, Namon's spiritual journey was an integral part of his life. He was a faithful member of his local church, where he found solace and strength in his unwavering devotion to the Lord. His unwavering faith shone through in everything he did, serving as a guiding light to those in his circle.

Above all, Namon held a special place in his heart for his family, particularly his adored grandchildren. He enjoyed spending quality time with them, creating lifelong memories and sharing his wisdom. Their laughter and happiness brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent together, leaving an indelible imprint on their lives.

Namon is survived by his loving daughter Donna Morgan and her husband Forrest Morgan, his son Namon Harvey Jr., his daughter Samantha Harvey, and his grandchildren Sara, Allen, Kathy, Madison, Rose, Ryan, Taylor, Blake, Christina, Namon, Alexia, and Mckenna. His love, guidance, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by each family member, and his memory will forever be cherished.

A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Clark Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in remembrance of Namon Johnson Harvey on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Clark Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens.

Namon Johnson Harvey will forever remain in our hearts as a devoted family man, a pillar of faith, and a gentle soul who touched the lives of many. May he find eternal peace and rest in the presence of the Lord.
