Nancy O. Towns, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on January 28, 1947, in Marietta, Georgia, to the late William H. Owens and Clara Mae Owens Porter. Nancy lived a life filled with love, creativity, and deep connections to her family and community.
Nancy was a member of East Cobb Baptist Church, where she found joy and purpose in her faith and fellowship. Her passion for creating shone through her beautiful handmade jewelry and crafts. Nancy had a love for reading, particularly immersing herself in the worlds of romance and mystery novels.
In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her flower garden, which brought her immense joy and served as a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Nancy traveled extensively in her younger years, and she had a flair for decorating and could turn any space into a festive wonderland, especially during Christmas and throughout the seasons.
She is preceded in death by her parents, along with her husband, Charles William Towns, and her son, Timothy A. Owens.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Melissa Cameron; her cherished grandchildren, David Andrews, Samantha Harbin, and Thomas Owens; her devoted brother, Tommy Owens (Marsha Fortner); and her dear sister, Della Abercrombie.
Nancy will have a graveside service on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Milford Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 AM where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Nancy's name to East Cobb Baptist Church. Nancy's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy of love and creativity will be cherished forever.
