Nancy Elizabeth Vann passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023.
She was born on May 2,1938 to Samuel and Pearl Allen in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Nancy was an amazing woman who was loved by so many people. She was an amazing wife and was a huge asset to her husband's, John Harvey Vann, Jr.'s, military career. She happily traveled the world by his side and gave birth to her children in three different countries. Nancy was a loving mother and a doting Nana and great Nana. Nancy enjoyed being in the company of her friends and traveling whenever she had the opportunity. Nancy was a long time member of Praise Tabernacle Church and an outstanding member of the community.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband John H. Vann, Jr., her parents; Samuel Allen and Pearl Hopkins, and her sister Barbara Greenwood.
She is survived by her son William (Kathi) Vann; two daughters Nancy (Tim) Merritt, Connie (Chris) Vorwald; and her sister Pamela Johnson. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Christopher Vann, Nicholas Vann, Ashton Merritt, Colson Vorwald, Victoria Evers, Morgan Scott; and by her nine great grandchildren: Aidan Merritt, William Merritt, Vann Merritt, Charlie Vann, Palmer Vann, Charlie Vorwald, Isabelle Vann, Lily Vorwald, Aurora Evers, and soon to arrive Peter Scott.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Clark Funeral Home, 4373 Atlanta Hwy, Hiram, Georgia. A celebration of life service will be on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2:00PM at Praise Tabernacle Church, 4052 Hiram Lithia Springs Rd SW, Powder Springs, Georgia with Daniel Youngblood officiating. Following the service, Nancy will be laid to rest at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens with William Vann, Tim Merritt, Chris Vorwald, Christopher Vann, Nathan Evers, and Colson Vorwald serving as pallbearers.
