Nell Tant Tibbitts, age 87, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Cartersville Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on December 3, 1932 in Talladega, AL. to her late parents; William and Essie Tant. Mrs. Tibbitts worked as a hairdresser for 40 years which she greatly enjoyed She was a faithful member of Narroway Baptist Church. Nell was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt who will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by granddaughter, Summer Treadwell, brother, Eddie Tant, and sisters; Rita Todd and Lois Harper.
Survivors include her loving husband of 70 years, Ned Tibbitts of Dallas, GA, son, Lamar Tibbitts and his wife Cheryl Tibbitts, of Dallas, GA, daughter, Bonnie Tibbitts of Port Saint Joe, FL, brothers; Walter Tant and his wife, Ann Tant of Chattsworth, GA, Jimmy Tant of Villa Rica, GA, sisters; Juantia Sandford and her husband, Curtis of Birmingham, AL, Carol Troche and husband, Dan of Hiawassee, GA, grandchildren; Tabatha Tibbitts, Shannon Caillouet and her husband, Skip, Camille Murdock (Chad Smith), Casey Walton and her husband, Kevin, grandson-in-law, Jeff Howard, great grandchildren; Chase, Lexi, Shea, Cameron, Mason, Kaden, Baylin, Ragan, Sky, Cash, great-great grandchildren; Isaac, Alex, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Nell Tibbitts will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Narroway Baptist Church at 1:00 PM with Rev. Todd Tibbitts and Rev. Eddie Davidson officating. Interment will follow the service at Narroway Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Hershel Tibbitts officiating the graveside service. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Josh Rakestraw, Dale Tant, John Rakestraw, David Tant, Chris Tant, Adam Ferrell, Ricky Rakestraw, Keith Thomason and Wiley Cates. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be; Kendell Smith, Colin Lyle, Steve Nieznany, Brandon Nieznany, Trent Tibbitts, and Nate Kelly. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a visitation on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to Narroway Baptist Church Cemetery fund or Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery fund in loving memory of Mrs. Tibbitts.
