Biography Nettie Marie Griffin, age 80, of Hiram, GA, passed away on January 31, 2009. She was born on April 18, 1928, in Dallas, GA, to the late John and Lizzie Thompson. Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband, J.E. “Jake” Griffin. She was a textile worker and worked for EAM in Dallas and was of Baptist faith.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-laws, Talmadge & Barbara McBrayer of Hiram, Hollis McBrayer of Hiram and Marvin and Bettina McBrayer of Hiram; daughter and son-in-law, Marie & Thomas Butler of Douglasville; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2009, at 2 p.m., from Clark Funeral Home. Interment will follow in New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
