Ninfa Maria “Nanny” Sweat Vanhoven passed away April 5, 2022. She was born on January 21, 1934 to the late Policarpo and Maria Gonzalez. Ninfa was a devoted Catholic and lived her life to serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ninfa was the rock of her family. She was extremely supportive and was always looking for a way to help others without ever excepting help herself. Ninfa was strong willed, determined, and never let anything stop her. Her family will remember her as a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who adored her loved ones. She was and will continue to be very loved and dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Jessie James Sr.; her daughter, Lula Mae Sweat; her son Jessie James Jr.; and her grandson, Charlie Troglin. She is survived by her second husband, Walter Vanhoven, her son, Scott Alexander (Rita) Sweat; sisters, Eneida Miranda, Ida Bonilla, and Lastenia Bonilla; grandchildren, Jessica (Sean) Douglass, Scott Sweat Jr, Tiffany (Bill) Mikael, Savannah Fisher, Kevin Fisher, Johnny Troglin; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Troglin, Nick Troglin, Adriean Warr, Jessie Creech, Brian Creech, Connor Douglass, Alex Douglass, Trinity Sweat, Jax Sweat, Xander Sweat, Sunny Sweat, Lucas Mikael, Sadie Odell, Sophie Herrity; great-great-grandchildren, Luna Warr, Alliria Warr, Eleanor Creech, Helen Creech, Theron Creech, Cheyanne Langley, and Harley Sides.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services for Mrs. Vanhoven will be held at Clark Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 8, 2022 beginning at 11:00am with Father Brian Sheridan, Deacon Michael Garrett, and Sean Douglass officiating.
