Obie Lester Ward Jr.

Obie Lester Ward Jr., age 79 of Acworth, GA., passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021. He was born on July 25, 1941 to his late parents Obie Lester Sr. and Nell Ward. Obie was Methodist by faith and was a systems analyst for more than thirty years.

Obie is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Ward; daughters, Ginger (Jerry) Tanner of Acworth and Marie (Dennis) Dufano of Rockmart; sister, Suzanne Ross of South Carolina; grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Melissa, and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Noah, Sawyer, Kinsley, Carson, Stella, Maddux, and Camie.

Memorial services for Mr. Ward will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 1:00 PM with minister Joe Tanner officiating.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who may be unable to attend the service in person due to the state’s Covid-19 concerns. If attending the visitation or service, the family and the staff of Clark Funeral Home recommends a face mask be worn and that social distancing be practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mr. Ward safe.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the National Federation of the Blind and the Paulding County Humane Society.
