Olen Crowe

Olen Crowe, age 80, of Mableton, passed away on Saturday, June 02, 2012. He was born on April 26, 1932, in Dallas, GA, to the late James Paul and Neppie Mae Crowe, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Colleen Southern Crowe; son, James Doyal Crowe; brother, Kenneth Leroy Crowe; and sister, Mae Elizabeth Laymon. Mr. Crowe was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Korean War, a member of Welcome Grove Baptist Church, and retired from Cleveland Electric.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Crowe of Dallas; daughter Renea & Robert Brown of Rockmart; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen Rice of Port Orange, FL, Paula Diana & Johnny Thomason of Rockmart, and Mildred Irene & Tom Lee of Buford; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at 11 a.m., from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Sammy Hall and Deacon Vernon Hall officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery with Military Honors. Tom Lee, Keith Sleight, Byron Thomason, Barry Whitley, Steve Rakestraw, and David Laymon will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 4, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
