Mr. Ollie Eugene Andrews, age 87, of Douglasville, GA (Paulding County) passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 at his residence. He was a member of New Georgia Baptist Church and retired as a Switchman Engineer with AT& T after 31 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; Garnett and Mollie Andrews; grandson, Christopher (Chris) Andrews; brothers, Joseph Andrews, Johney Andrews and Garnett Andrews; sisters, Ruby Bolden, Ruth Johns and Bessie Lee.
Survivors include his wife; Betty Fuller Andrews of Douglasville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, David and Vicky Andrews of Villa Rica, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Gordon Bill of Douglasville, GA; brother, Frank Andrews of Kennesaw, GA; sister, Christine Wynn of Tucker, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan and Laura Bill, Joshua and Stephanie Bill, Joseph Bill and Daniel Bill all of Douglasville, GA, Jeffrey and Michelle Andrews and Michael and Amanda Andrews of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Andrews of Powder Springs, GA; thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. Andrews will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at New Georgia Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Burdette and Brother Ken Johns officiating . He will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. Interment will follow in Melrose Hills Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class of New Georgia Baptist Church.
