Opal C Key, age 95, of Hiram, GA, passed away on peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2020. She was born on December 21, 1924 in Marble, NC, to her late parents, Robert and Artie Huskins. Opal was retired from Cobb County School System, where she worked in the lunch room for over 10 years and was a faithful member of Mt. Arbor Baptist Church. Mrs. Key was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many who will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Buster Lee Key, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Survivors include her son; Dennis Key (Lynn) of Marietta, GA, daughters; Brenda Pearson (Allen) of Hiram, Ga, Linda G Nelson of Ellijay, Ga, Arlene Goggins, (Walton) of NC, Darlene Key of Marietta, GA, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
A private Funeral Service for Mrs. Key will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 with Pastor Michael Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park with the following family serving as pallbearers; Dennis Key, Preston Tucker, Michael Tucker, Walton Goggins III, Brad Laporte and Taylor Courson. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to Covid-19 restrictions.
