Oscar Neal (Black) Black

November 18, 1928 — November 6, 2021


Right before midnight, on November 6, 2021, Oscar Neal Black known to his friends as Neal went to be with the LORD. He was born in Loachapoka, Alabama on November 18th, 1928. He resided in the Burnt Hickory Community along with his immediate family.



He loved his family starting with his wife of 75 years and his four children, two of which preceded him in death. He has 5 grandchildren, 6 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.



He made his living in the woods as a logger and sawmiller. He worked in an office he truly loved, passing that dedication on to younger generations. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dallas, GA where he was a deacon for many years.



Neal enjoyed hunting and fishing when the conditions were right. He would visit many different lakes, ponds and streams to trout fish. He had served as the Paulding County Sportsmens Club president when it existed. Basket weaving and playing practical jokes are among other hobbies that he enjoyed.



He would have been 93 years old on November 18th and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.



Neal is proceeded in death by his parents O.N. Black and Ethel Danner Black, Sister; Grace Matthew, Brothers; Claude(Betty) Black and William (Frances) Black, Son; Kenneth Neal Black, Daughter; Judy Marie (Paul) Laitinen.



Mr. Black is survived by wife Louise Cochran Black, sons; Charlie Black , Ben ( Sandy) Black Grandchildren; Jimmy Bishop, Jessica Black, Charles Neal Black, Aaron(Jennifer) Black , Kellie ( Khris) Edwards, Great grandchildren; Corbett Bishop, Chase Bishop, Conner Bishop, Luke Black, Jackson Black, Amelia Elo Edwards, Great Great grandchildren Coraline Bishop, Sister; Margaret (Jimmy ) Camp, Ann (Johnny) Matthews, Brother; David (Doniver ) Black, and many, many nephews and nieces.



The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Clark Funeral Home, 4373 Atlanta Highway, Hiram, GA 30141, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services for Mr. Black will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 3:00pm at Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Todd Tibbitts officiating. Following the service, Mr. Black will be laid to rest at Dallas Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to First Baptist Church of Dallas, GA.
