Patricia Ann (Phillips) Carter

April 13, 1939 — August 8, 2020

Patricia Ann Phillips Carter, 81, of Marietta, GA passed away on August 8, 2020, at Greenwood Place, Marietta, GA.  She was born on April 13, 1939 in Hayesville, NC to the late Daniel Lafayette Phillips and Ora Mae Ashe Phillips.

Pat Carter was a Christian and worked as a bookkeeper. She loved to craft and was able to pass her love for crocheting on to many others. She was an avid volunteer in the many places she lived, sharing her life with her husband’s career as a pastor.

She is survived by her children Cynthia Renee Carter of Woodstock; Ginger Carter Cato and her husband David of Rockmart; Victoria Mae Carter Leach of Georgia; four grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother Jack Phillips and his wife Mary Ellen of SC.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, James Bonham Carter; one brother, Daniel Phillips; and one sister, Margaret (Peggy) Phillips Brown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 12 at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 9967 Ocean Hwy. 17, Pawleys Island, SC on at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Tony Larson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society/Breast Cancer Awareness.

Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
