Pearline Keown

June 21, 1937 — January 21, 2017

Amelia Pearline Keown was born June 21, 1937 to Tom and Eunice Frey of Dallas, Georgia. She married the love of her life, Harold Loyd “Jack” Keown on November 29, 1952. They were together 57 years until his death in 2009.

They were blessed with 5 children: Cathy married to Don Reece, Harold married to Ursulina which he lost in 2016, Carol married to Mike Greenway which she lost in 2000, Mike married to Mary Ann, and Eddie married to Jenny. They enjoyed 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Both Jack and Pearline made it very clear to their children that they were wanted and loved. They truly adored their grandchildren, helping to raise them and focused on each one’s talents and gifts. Pearline made quilts for them which featured their hobby or sport preference.

Pearline was a gracious caregiver to all. Many elderly parents, aunts and uncles stayed at her home until their death. She also loved children. She babysat many that continued to call and visit her as adults.

Pearline loved God. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and very active until her health failed. She taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Her chocolate cakes and banana puddings were favorites at the social gatherings.

Pearline will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and her beloved dog, Ling.
