Pete Martin, age 77, of Dallas, passed away on January 7, 2010. He was born on November 17, 1932 in Fort Payne, AL to the late John Glen Martin and Ida Maude Jarrels. He was a retired school bus driver with the Paulding County School System with 40 years of service and was a member of Martinville Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Jo Ann Martin; a son and daughter-in-law, Sammy & Cheryl Martin of Dallas; daughters and sons-in-law, Marie & Howard Bennett of Dallas and Cathy Martin & John Daniel of Dallas; a brother, Jimmy Martin of Dallas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances & Elvin Swan of Powder Springs, Irene & Coy Evans of Dallas, Ruby & Jimmy Harper of Dallas, Reba & Earnest Stevens of Oxford, AL, Syble Campbell of Fort Payne, AL, Mary Fowler of Fort Payne, AL, Audrey Jarrells of Fort Payne, AL and Shirley & John Grant of Dallas; grandchildren, Michael Martin of Dallas, Samuel Frey of Dallas, Kevin White and his wife, Erica of Dallas and Tamatha Wisener of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Brandon Frey, Kolby White and Brian Frey, all of Dallas; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Grant officiating. The interment will follow in Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery with David Wiley, Donnie Evans, Robert Evans, Steve Harper, Kevin White and Ricky Harper serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home, Hiram, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
