Phyllis Eckelkamp

July 21, 1941 — June 20, 2021

Phyllis Eckelkamp, age 79, lived a life that joyfully modeled value and worth people and animals everywhere.  While the last few years found her memory fading, her dignified presence shone brightly to her peaceful release.

On Sunday, June 20th this mother of six, drew her last breath as she was lovingly honored by the excellent care givers of The Pearl in Dallas, GA.

The belief that people are our greatest treasures was fueled by her faith and reinforced as a member St. Stephens Catholic Church in Cadiz, KY.  Phyllis learned from her mother Golda Eldridge to be thrifty, generous, and to leave a situation better than she found it.

Born into the world on July 21, 1941, Phyllis entered a difficult world in challenging times.  Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Roger Eckelkamp, daughter, Cindy May; and son, Patrick Eckelkamp.  It was hardships such as these that taught her how to turn “rain into a rainbow.”

Phyllis is survived by her children, Craig (Mary Gail) Eckelkamp of Dallas, GA, Cheryl Baker of Wisconsin, Michael (Bernardine) Eckelkamp of Nebraska, and Mark (Kathy) Eckelkamp of Kentucky; daughter in-law, Stephanie Eckelkamp; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; along with a host of extended family.

Condolences may be left for the family on our website, www.samclarkfuneralhome.com on the tribute wall.

Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA is honored to care for the family during this difficult time.
